We want to use Combined Locums, what are your fees?

We do not charge for any booking fees however, we request clients to confirm booking by either writing or emailing us as a form of agreement. We strongly advise our clients to read the terms and conditions on our website.

How thorough is your locum vetting process?

You can be rest assured that we leave no stone unturned, our recruitment process is rigorous and all applicants are thoroughly vetted before the full registration process. Our agents will obtain at least two professional references to coincide with the information provided by the locum. We have a large database of locums and request clients to inform us any specific requirements or accreditations to help us supply the perfect candidate.

How quickly can Combined Locums respond to urgent request?

Our team is fully equipped to deal with all urgent requests, and can dispatch GP’s, Dentists, Optometrists or Pharmacists within very short period of time from client request.¬† Requests can be made by calling us on 01922 277 878 or by email at

How do we provide locum performance feedback?

We welcome any feedback in writing by post or email. If a locum meets your expectations and excels in their role we can make them compatible with your practice.

I’m looking for locum work, how do I register with Combined Locums?

Initially you will need to register your interest  by completing the Quick Registration form that can be found on our homepage. Our registration team aim to contact you within 24 hours of completing this process for additional documentation including references.

Can you explain the work status of a locum?

The work status of Locum GP’s, Dentists, Optometrists and Pharmacists is being self-employed.

How do I get paid?

You will be given full details of payment structure and schedules upon completing the full registration process.

How important is it that I commission the services of an accountant?

Working as a self-employed locum it is very important to use the services of an accountant. You will need to keep up to date records of your work placements, the invoices you submit including any payment advice you acquire from clients. It is also important to keep tabs on mileage expenses that is not provisioned by the clients so you can submit them for your annual tax return. With your status being self-employed you will be liable for the payment of tax, pensions and national insurance. To reduce your quarterly / annual accountancy bill we recommend you keep a log of these records yourself.

I’m unable to fulfil an assignment, what do I do?

If for whatever reason you are unable to fulfil an assignment please contact us immediately by calling 01922 277 878 or emailing so we can arrange a replacement. Depending on your contact method please ensure you provide relevant information so we can identify you quickly. We request you adhere to all assignments but in the event of failing to do so please try and contact us with time in hand allowing us to find a suitable replacement without complications.

Who do I contact If I’m running late for an assignment?

In this instance contact us on 01922 277 878 specifying the reason for your lateness and expected time of arrival. This is will help us update the client so they know when to expect you. To maintain a positive client and candidate relationship we strongly urge you minimise lateness, doing so will mean you increase the chances of being a front runner for future opportunities.

Do I get any appraisals?

Appraisals will work both ways. We encourage clients and candidates alike to give us feedback based on enjoyment and suitability for the role. If both parties are satisfied we will do all we can to make the arrangements more frequent.
